So, it's tuff work??? I bet it's hard. You need share all the details!!
My mother in law who is a hard worker did not last but a few days in the school cafeteria. She said it surprised her that the work was harder than she had expected. She said you had to have 'muscles' to lift some of those pans!
My kids went to school up north in Shreveport ;) and the cafeteria food was so good (yes that's right) that you had to make reservations early to eat her Thanksgiving special meal with your kids! Parents went all the time to eat lunch with their kids, you just filed in line with their class. So YES cafeteria ladies do deserve a hug at the very least!
I loved our cafeteria ladies in elementary school - they were the best cooks and they knew what we all liked and didn't. But then again, those were the days before the govt had their say in what kids couldn't and could be served in Public Schools.
So glad they called you - maybe this will work into something more permanent?
